Why this site exists

Search results mix official PDFs, old forum posts, operator marketing and fragmented town pages. We organise the river the way people travel it — tablelands and Lake Wyangala, mid-valley Forbes and Condobolin, western lakes and the Great Cumbung — and we do not hard-code fishing seasons, bag limits or “current” storage percentages that go out of date.

How we work

The guide is for trip decisions: which stretch to visit, whether a Wyangala lake weekend makes sense, fishing and swimming without false certainty, camping, and which official sources to check when rules change.

• Structure: source / tablelands → mid valley → plains → Cumbung, matching real self-drive routes from Sydney, Canberra and inland NSW.
• Rules: careful wording on fishing, storage levels, releases from Wyangala, Forbes flood history and plains heat; link to officials when numbers change.
• Sources: WaterNSW, NSW DPI Fisheries, NPWS, Transport for NSW maritime, BoM, NSW SES, Local Land Services and MDBA — we do not replace them.
• Trust: independent site, affiliate disclosure, contact path, photo credits, Country notes without made-up protocols, no fake “official” branding.
